All prospective students are required to complete the St. Andrew’s School application. The application includes a Teacher Recommendation Form and a Release of Student Information Form. The Teacher Recommendation Form is a confidential document and is not intended to be read by the parent or student. The Release of Student Information Form must be signed by the prospective student’s legal guardian(s) and will be sent to the student’s school at the time of application in order to obtain the student’s school records.
St. Andrew’s School serves families whose adjusted gross annual income does not exceed 200% of the federal poverty guidelines as published each year. Financial data must be submitted by the prospective student’s family in order to confirm that they fall within these guidelines. Acceptable proof includes: federal income tax form (Form 1040), a printout from a social services agency caseworker indicating assistance dispersed over the previous months, and/or a letter of explanation with regard to the financial provision for this student.
Kindergarten applicants must be age 5 on or before September 30 of the enrollment year.
If openings are available, students who have completed the application process (see above) are contacted to schedule an appointment for academic testing, a tour of the school, an interview with student and parent/guardian, and a classroom visit when appropriate. Students who meet the above criteria are considered for admission to St. Andrew’s School based on the following:
- Grade-level Readiness
- Academic Aptitude
- Size of Class
- Gender Balance of Class
- Family Commitment
Admissions decisions are typically made between January 30 and April 15 for the following school year. Families who have completed the application and interview process will be notified in writing of acceptance, denial, or “wait pool” status for future consideration should an opening arise. Families secure their student’s placement at St. Andrew’s School with payment of the $125 enrollment fee. Arrangements for a payment plan of this fee may be made with the administration.
At St. Andrew’s School, we believe in the value of an inclusive community and strive to create such an environment.
